Well Within Reiki
How can I maximize my session? What do I do in a session?
BEFORE

Take steps to wind down at least ½ hr before the session:

Light exercise, bath/shower, tea, meditation.

Be lying or sitting comfortably at your scheduled time and say a prayer of gratitude for the healing energy.

Reflect on your current struggles and ask for help to resolve and move through them.

Write down an intention for the session on a piece of paper; hold it in hand or lie it next to you.
DURING

Allow yourself to fully relax. The Reiki energy will soon increase blood flow and deepen breathing.

Optional: music, incense, candle, diffuser, fountain.

Don’t try to ‘figure out’ what is happening.

Receive and be open to positive sensations or feelings.

Don't fight difficult feelings, busy thoughts, etc.

Negative energy is being displaced/released and discomfort will resolve.

Sensations during a session:

Possible sensations may include: heat, tingling, pulsing, drowsiness and others.

Many clients fall asleep, deeply; some doze or enter a dream state.

Some clients see colors, images.
-
You may feel nothing at all during; this is not a barometer of Reiki’s effectiveness.

AFTER
-
Continue to relax after the session.

Avoid demanding tasks for 1-2 hrs.

Ground: stretch, drink, light snack, walk, etc.

Note any changes and shifts of energy, body, even into the next 1-2 days.

Drink plenty of water; toxins in the body and negative energy will have shifted.

Journal: write down noteworthy sensations, next step ideas in your healing journey.

I will follow up with you in an email within 1-3 hours. If the session is at night, I will wait until the following morning.
